Hakuba does powder differently. The snow here is deep, dry and consistent in a way that most ski resorts genuinely can’t promise. Add ten resorts spread across three valleys, free shuttles to move between them and a brand new studio base 500 metres from Happo-One, and you've got a ski week that doesn't ask you to compromise on anything. When the lifts stop, Hakuba's village takes over. Ramen spots that steam up the windows, onsens that sort out whatever the mountain did to your legs, izakayas where the evening starts politely and tends to get a little loose somewhere around the third round. That's the Japanese après experience and Hakuba does it as well as anywhere. Your 5-day Hakuba Valley Pass opens the door to all of it: Hakuba 47, Cortina, Goryu, Happo-One and six more, valid over any five days within a ten-day window from your first ski day. Want more time on snow? Upgrade to a six or seven-day pass and keep going. Back at Mizuho, the studios are exactly what you need after a big day on snow. King or twin bedding, ensuite, smart TV, wardrobe and kitchenette. Clean, considered and designed for people who want comfort without fuss. Solo travellers and duos who like their ski weeks with a bit of style and zero faff will feel right at home. Built for travellers who take their powder seriously. Seven nights. Ten resorts. One very good decision.

Powder Days Across Hakuba Valley

This is what you came for. Hakuba's powder is the real thing: deep, dry and light in a way that changes what skiing actually feels like. With ten resorts across three valleys and free shuttles linking them all, no two days need to look the same. One morning you're carving groomed runs at Happo-One, the next you're chasing fresh snow through the trees at Cortina. The 5-day pass gives you the freedom to follow the conditions wherever they go. This freedom is the whole point.

The fun stuff

Five-Day Hakuba Valley Ski Pass

This is what the week is built around, where you can use any 5 days within your 10-day window. Ten resorts, one pass, and the freedom to ski wherever the snow is best each day. Happo-One for long cruising runs and Olympic-grade terrain. Cortina for deep tree runs and serious powder stashes. Hakuba 47 and Goryu for variety and vertical. Iwatake for quieter runs and panoramic views. The pass works across all of it. Use your five days however you want, in whatever order makes sense when you wake up and check the conditions. Your QR code arrives 30 days before check-in. Everything else is up to you.

Exploring Hakuba Village (encouraged)

Off the mountain, Hakuba's village has everything you need and nothing that feels unnecessary. Convenience stores stocked better than most supermarkets. Ramen spots with six seats and a chef who's been making the same broth for twenty years. Izakayas where you point at things and they're always good. A few bars that get livelier than they look from the outside. Wander without a plan and something good will find you.

Onsen Sessions (encouraged)

After back-to-back powder days your legs will tell you it's time. Hakuba has several onsens within easy reach: some rustic, some resort-style, all of them worth the visit. Slide into water hot enough to revive your body for the next day, stare at the steam rising into the cold mountain air. You’ll soon come to realise, this is a snow trip done right. One of the non-negotiable parts of any Japan ski week.
