Hakuba does powder differently. The snow is lighter, deeper and more consistent than almost anywhere else on earth. Based out of Mizuho Chalets, fully self-contained three or four-bedroom chalets sitting 500 metres from the Nakiyama ski lifts in Happo-one, this is your group's own space for however long you want it. Open plan living and dining, a fully equipped kitchen, underfloor heating, Apple TV and mountain views on your doorstep. Pick up your supplies on the supermarket shuttle, order home-cooked meals delivered to your door from the nearby lodge and walk ten minutes in either direction to find yourself in Happo village or Echoland, two of Hakuba's best eating and drinking strips. Your Hakuba Valley Ski Pass opens up ten resorts: Happo-one, Goryu, Cortina, Norikura and more. Return transfers from the airport to the chalet are included, as well as transfers between the chalet and restaurants and the mountain throughout your stay which you can organise on the ground. The ski shuttle stops are within walking distance for everything else. Beyond the mountain there are ARRIVAL-recommended onsens for the evenings when your legs have given everything they have. Hakuba village for dinner and drinks. Ski and snowboard rental and lessons available for those who want to progress. This trip is fully customisable. Off the mountain, Hakuba's village has everything you need and nothing that feels unnecessary. Convenience stores stocked better than most supermarkets. Ramen spots with six seats and a chef who's been making the same broth for twenty years. Izakayas where you point at things and they're always good. A few bars that get livelier than they look from the outside. Wander without a plan and something good will find you.
