Myoko Kogen does powder differently. The snow is lighter, deeper and more consistent than almost anywhere else on earth. Based out of Akakura Annex Hotel, a comfortable, well-located property sitting five minutes from the lifts in the heart of Myoko Kogen, this is the perfect central base for however long you want it. Clean and cosy rooms in Japanese and Western styles for couples and groups. An on-site restaurant for the nights when nobody wants to go further than the ground floor. And the on-site indoor and outdoor onsens, Jacuzzi and sauna waiting every evening after the mountain has taken everything your legs have to offer. There's also a talking humanoid robot greeting guests in English and Japanese at the front desk, because it’s Japan. Your Myoko ski pass opens up multiple resorts across the Myoko area: Akakura Onsen, Akakura Kanko, Ikenotaira, Seki Onsen and more, all accessible by shuttle and covered by one pass. The daily shuttle runs from the hotel making resort access straightforward regardless of where the best snow is that morning. Beyond the mountain there are ARRIVAL-recommended onsens across the broader Myoko valley for the evenings when your legs have given everything they have. Myoko Kogen village for dinner and drinks. Ski and snowboard rental and lessons available for those who want to progress. This trip is fully customisable. Number of nights, group size, room configuration, number of ski days, lesson scheduling, onsen bookings and restaurant reservations, all of it shaped around what your group actually wants. Fill in your preferences when you request a custom quote and we'll build the trip around you.

Powder Days Across Myoko Kogen

This is what you came for. Myoko's powder is the real thing, deep, dry and light in a way that changes what skiing actually feels like. This place delivers snow in quantities most resorts can only dream about, and the terrain here rewards people who go looking for it. With multiple resorts across the Myoko area and a daily shuttle linking them all, no two days need to look the same. One morning you're carving groomed runs at Akakura Onsen, the next you're chasing fresh lines through the trees at Ikenotaira. Your ski pass gives you the freedom to follow the conditions wherever they go.

Exploring Myoko Kogen Village (Encouraged)

Off the mountain, Myoko Kogen village has everything you need and nothing that feels unnecessary. Convenience stores stocked better than most supermarkets. Ramen spots with six seats and a chef who's been making the same broth for twenty years. Izakayas where you point at things and they're always good. A few bars that get livelier than they look from the outside. Wander without a plan and something good will find you.

Onsen Sessions: On-Site and Beyond (Encouraged)

The indoor and outdoor onsens, Jacuzzi and sauna are right on site at Akakura Annex, no research, no travel, just straight in after the mountain. Myoko Kogen also has several onsens across the broader valley worth exploring throughout the week. Slide into water hot enough to revive your body for the next day, stare at the steam rising into the cold mountain air. One of the non-negotiable parts of any Japan ski week. ARRIVAL will point you toward the best ones before you arrive.
