Europe’s summer – roughly June to September – is when the weather is warm, the days are long and the vibes are in full swing. For fewer crowds, try late May or early September. It’s still balmy and you’ll find it easier to bag a space big enough to lay your towel on the beach.
Tipping isn’t mandatory, or expected but is always appreciated. In cafés and restaurants, rounding up or leaving 5–10% is standard. Small tips for taxi drivers, hotel staff and guides are also welcomed for good service.
